About Jabbertoon

Jabbertoon is a cartoon studio that runs in your web browser. You put characters on a stage, type what they say, and they say it, with voices made on your own device and mouths that move with the words. You can build your own characters on a skeleton, write your own moves with blocks, and download what you make as a video.

What we believe

Jabbertoon is free: there is no price, no paid tier and no advertising.

No account and no sign-up. Nobody is asked for a name, an email address, an age or a password.

Nothing you make is uploaded. Your characters, moves, lines and recordings stay in the browser on your device.

We think the best place for a child's story is with the child, so the site is built to keep it there. That is also why there is no gallery, no chat and no comments: Jabbertoon is a tool, not a social network.

Where it came from

Jabbertoon began as a classroom cartoon studio at crafts4class.com. In 2026 it moved to its own name, together with a character creator, a block editor and a library of moves. The old address is becoming a short page for teachers that points here.

Who makes it

Jabbertoon is an independent project. More about the people behind it will appear on this page soon.

Open source

Jabbertoon's code is licensed under the Apache License 2.0, and the part of it that runs in your browser is served as readable source files. Every move and character pack it ships is CC0 (public domain).

The block language and the file formats are published in the docs, so anyone can read, write or build on Jabbertoon's moves and characters.
