High five
One arm raises and then slaps forward in a tenth of a second, a flag marking the instant of touch, before the arm comes back down.

What it is for
High five is a quick greeting or celebration between two characters: one hand raises and slaps forward, and a flag marks the instant it touches another hand. It pairs well with another character's own High five, timed to the same flag.
The principle it shows: follow-through
The flag_touch marker fires right after the hand slaps forward — the arm dropping, the forearm straightening, the body tilting and shifting ahead — not before it. The arm keeps moving into and past the moment of contact rather than freezing dead on it, so the slap carries real weight.
The program, line by line
when it starts
glide right arm 150, right forearm 24, rot -2 over 0.25 s (out)
glide right arm 132, right forearm 4, rot -6, dx 6 over 0.1 s (in)
set flag_touch to (tau)
wait 0.2 s
glide right arm 0, right forearm 0, rot 0, dx 0 over 0.3 swhen it starts— begins the moment the move is put on a character.glide right arm 150, right forearm 24, rot -2 over 0.25 s (out)— the right arm raises up and out, the body tilting 2 degrees back.glide right arm 132, right forearm 4, rot -6, dx 6 over 0.1 s (in)— the hand slaps forward fast: the arm drops a little, the forearm straightens, the body tilts further and shifts forward.set flag_touch to (tau)— marks the flag named Touch the instant that slap finishes.wait 0.2 s— holds the touch.glide right arm 0, right forearm 0, rot 0, dx 0 over 0.3 s— the arm comes back down and the body returns to neutral.
Try this
Slap the hand forward in four hundredths of a second instead of a tenth. The touch lands almost instantly, reading as a sharp, excited slap.
In the program:
ramp · over0.1→0.04Hold the touch for 0.6 seconds instead of 0.2. The high five lingers much longer before the arm comes back down.
In the program:
wait · s0.2→0.6
How it differs from Hug and Shake hands
Hug uses the same flag_touch idea for a slower, two-armed embrace that holds for longer; High five is one arm and over in well under a second. Shake hands is the other greeting move here, between two hands at chest height rather than a raised slap.
