Hug
Both arms open wide and wrap round, a flag marking the instant of touch, before the whole body softens into a held, gentle squeeze.

What it is for
Hug is for affection between two characters: both arms open wide, wrap around, and squeeze gently, holding for a moment before letting go. It pairs well with another character's own Hug, both flagged to the same touch.
The principle it shows: squash and stretch
Once the arms have wrapped around — the flag fires right as they finish closing in — the whole body squashes gently to 97% of its height, a small, soft squeeze rather than a sudden stop, before holding and then stretching back to full height as the arms open again.

Try this
Squash to 90% of full height on the squeeze instead of 97%. The hug becomes a much bigger, tighter squeeze.
In the program:
ramp · to.sy0.97→0.9Hold the hug for 1.2 seconds instead of 0.4, three times as long. The embrace lingers much longer before the arms let go.
In the program:
wait · s0.4→1.2
How it differs from High five and Shake hands
High five shares the flag_touch idea but uses one arm and is over in under a second, with no squash; Hug uses both arms and holds the squeeze for longer. Shake hands is the other two-character greeting here, with no embrace or squash at all.
