What it is for
Settle down (many legs) is the sit-down of the nine game cycles, written for the many set: the shell settling down onto the ground on spread legs, the claws resting, every leg, named or numbered up to 16, bending together at once. This body only has a ground version to settle onto, since there is no chair or ledge a many-legged shell would sit on.
The principle it shows: staging
Every leg bends by the same amount, in the same single motion, rather than each one working through its own timing. That simplicity is deliberate: with up to sixteen legs on screen at once, having them all settle together reads clearly as one shell coming down, where staggering each one's own timing would only blur the motion.

Try this
Take 1.2 seconds to settle instead of 0.7. The sit becomes a slow, careful lowering instead of a quick one.
In the program:
ramp · over0.7→1.2Pull the left claw in 15 degrees instead of 4. The claws tuck much tighter against the body as it settles.
In the program:
ramp · to.part:arm:-1-4→-15
How it differs from Sit down and Sit (many legs)
Sit down is the upright set's version, bending a hip and a knee rather than every leg together. Sit (many legs) is the held pose this move settles into once it finishes.
