Heavy blow

From the wind-up, the sword brought down with both hands and the whole body, folding at the waist with a step in, then back up to the guard.

What it is for

The finishing strike after a Heavy wind-up: a two-handed blow that lands hard.

The principle it shows: commitment

Commitment. The step in and the fold at the waist put the whole body behind the blade, so it lands late and heavy, and the body takes a moment to recover. The marked Hit! is where it lands.

Try this

  1. Slow it from 0.3 s to 0.51 s: the same heavy blow, taken more slowly, so you see each part of it.

In the program: ramp ยท over 0.3 โ†’ 0.51

  2. Turn the arm (right) to 124 degrees instead of 165: a smaller, tighter heavy blow.

    In the program: ramp ยท to.part:arm:1 165 โ†’ 124

How it differs from the others

Chop is the quicker one-handed strike; Heavy wind-up is the held preparation that comes before it.
