A quick flick of the blade out across the incoming one, the wrist turning it aside, then back to the guard.

What it is for

Turning an incoming blade aside at the last moment: the counter of a sword fight.

The principle it shows: timing over strength

Timing over strength. A small, fast flick of the wrist carries the blade out across the incoming one, then straight back to the guard. The marked Block is the instant they meet.

Try this

  1. Slow it from 0.1 s to 0.17 s: the same parry, taken more slowly, so you see each part of it.

In the program: ramp ยท over 0.1 โ†’ 0.17

  2. Turn the arm (right) to 56 degrees instead of 75: a smaller, tighter parry.

    In the program: ramp ยท to.part:arm:1 75 โ†’ 56

How it differs from the others

Block holds the sword up and takes the blow; Dodge moves the body out of the way.

Works on

The two in the film above, and what the move turns on each: worked out by the build, which plays the move on each body and checks what moves. Nobody types this table.

Grump (an animal on four legs)yeswhole body, head, front legs, back legs, ears
