Rising cut

From low on the sword side up across the body to high on the other side, the legs pushing up through it and the chest turning: a cut that rises.

What it is for

A heavy attack that comes from below: it lifts a guard, and it reads as a finisher.

The principle it shows: the legs lift the cut

The power comes from the ground: the knees bend first, then push up as the chest turns, and the sword rides that rise from low to high. The marked Hit! is where it crosses the front.

Try this

  1. Slow the wind-up from 0.16 s to 0.3 s: a rising cut with a long, clear warning.

In the program: ramp ยท over 0.16 โ†’ 0.3

  2. Swing the arm out to 78 degrees instead of 60: a wider arc.

    In the program: ramp ยท to.part:arm:1~out 60 โ†’ 78

How it differs from the others

Sweep stays low; Chop comes down from above, the opposite way.

Works on
