Stagger

Struck: thrown back a step, the head snapped back and the arms flung out, the knees buckling, then catching itself back to the guard.

What it is for

Being hit in a fight: thrown back a step, then catching yourself.

The principle it shows: reaction

Reaction. The body is pushed back from where it was struck, the head snaps back after it and the arms fling out; the recovery takes longer than the hit, which is what makes the hit feel strong.

Try this

  1. Slow it from 0.14 s to 0.24 s: the same stagger, taken more slowly, so you see each part of it.

In the program: ramp ยท over 0.14 โ†’ 0.24

  2. Turn the forearm (left) to 56 degrees instead of 75: a smaller, tighter stagger.

    In the program: ramp ยท to.part:forearm:-1 75 โ†’ 56

How it differs from the others

Kneel stays down; Dodge avoids the hit altogether.

Works on

The two in the film above, and what the move turns on each: worked out by the build, which plays the move on each body and checks what moves. Nobody types this table.
WhoMoves?What moves
