Who it is

The person is the character most cartoons start with. In the example cartoon on this site, Sunny is the person in a yellow shirt. It stands upright and faces you, which makes it the clearest character for talking scenes: the mouth, the eyes and both arms are always in view. It also has a side view and a back view, drawn from the same bones, so it can turn to walk off, bow, or look around.

Its body

The person stands on its hips. Above them the spine is two segments, a waist and a chest, so it can bend in a bow or lean in a slump. The arms hang from the chest, each an upper arm, a forearm and a hand, and the legs hang from the hips, each a thigh, a shin and a foot. The head sits on the chest with the hair and the nose, and the face has eyes, brows and a mouth that opens with the voice. The joints have limits like a real body's, so a knee or an elbow seen side-on bends only one way, unless you switch the character's joints to Silly in the studio.

Making it yours

In the studio you can change the shirt, the skin, and the hair and trousers colours, pick a body shape (Classic, Big head or Tall), stretch the head, body and legs, and choose any of the six looks. To change the parts themselves, open it in the creator: you can lengthen the arms, swap the hair, add glasses, or turn it into something else entirely, and it will still play every move.

Good moves to start with

Wave hello, Talk and Walk in cover most scenes. Bow and Hands on hips show off the spine and the reach block, which put the hands on a spot of the body. The list below has every move that suits the person; the small words after each say which parts move.

Moves that suit it

Worked out by the build, not typed. A move is listed when, played on this character, it moves the parts the move is about: the kinds of part it moves on most of the characters that have them (arms, wings or front legs; legs; tails; ears; hair). A move about the whole body suits every character. The small words say what moves.
